Writing Extended Essays

Writing Extended EssaysAn extended essay is a key tool in any college-level writing course. It allows students to take their literary works from the writing level right up to college level writing. The extended essay itself will take on many different kinds of essay topics, including grammar, literature, communication, and language and literature. To begin, students must first look at what are considered extended essay topics. College writing professors will have a wide variety of opinions on this. They can include subjects such as family structure, war, ethics, identity and feelings, religion, history, and even personal stories. One topic that has become extremely popular is religion, which is perhaps the topic that has led to the most controversy among extended essay topics. There are debates as to whether or not religion is one of the basic human freedoms to discuss in college writing courses. Other religions may argue that they are in fact 'basic' human freedoms. What do you think? The biggest debate about extended essay topics involving religion is whether or not students should use the Bible as the basis for their essay or if they should discuss other religions instead. Should you include the viewpoints of non-Christian religions? Or, should you focus on Christianity? However, you choose to approach your particular extended topic is fine. The important thing is that it remains clear and keeps the focus of the course in mind.At this point, students should familiarize themselves with the way essay writing works in group three. Look for areas where you need to expand and areas where you are expanding, as well as areas where you are maintaining the same elements. By doing this, students will be better able to grasp the basics of essays. If you feel like you are already pretty familiar with these elements, you might want to put them into their own separate place. For example, instead of focusing on religion, you could create a group of 'debate.' Debate essays can d iscuss many different issues, but you should still keep the focus on your initial topic. That way, you can still maintain the originality. The point is, in group three, you don't always have to stick to the same things you've written about before. Make your extended essays different, and students will appreciate the originality you are offering.
